Cheesy and Crispy Asparagus Sticks
These Crispy Parmesan Asparagus Sticks are the ultimate healthy snack or side dish. Fresh asparagus spears are lightly coated in flour, dipped in egg, and rolled in a savory Parmesan breadcrumb mix, then baked or air-fried to golden perfection. Perfectly crunchy on the outside and tender inside!
Ingredients
- 1 bunch fresh asparagus spears, trimmed
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (panko or regular)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Olive oil spray (optional, for extra crispiness)
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) or set your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
Step 2: Set up a dredging station with three shallow bowls:
- One with flour (season with a pinch of salt and pepper)
- One with beaten eggs
- One with a mixture of Parmesan, breadcrumbs, and garlic powder
Step 3: Dip each asparagus spear first in flour, then egg, and finally roll in the Parmesan breadcrumb mix until well coated.
Step 4: Arrange coated spears in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet or air fryer basket. Lightly spray with olive oil for extra crispiness (optional).
Step 5: Bake for 12–15 minutes, or air fry for 7–10 minutes, until golden and crispy.
